What We Believe

Statement of Faith

Doctrinal Statement

The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the entire Scriptures (both Old and New Testaments) are inspired by God; that He revealed Himself to people through it. It is inerrant and has authority as the foundation for faith and conduct.

(2 Timothy 3:15–17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

The Eternal Godhead

We believe in one true, eternal Godhead — the Creator of heaven and earth, and Redeemer of mankind — who has revealed Himself in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

(Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10–11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22)

The Lord Jesus Christ

His Deity and Humanity:

Born of a virgin
Sinless in His life
Performed miracles
Redeemed man from sin through His death on the cross
Rose again from the dead

(Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35; Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22; Acts 2:22; 10:38; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

The Fall of Man

We believe that man was created good and upright by God.
However, through disobedience, he experienced not only physical death
but also spiritual death, which means separation from God.

(Genesis 1:26–27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12–19)

God’s Plan for Redemption

We believe that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us, and all who believe in Him receive forgiveness and eternal life. This hope is made real through the shedding of His holy blood.

(John 3:16; Romans 5:8; Hebrews 9:12–14)

a. Conditions for Salvation:

Repentance from sin
Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ

(Acts 3:19; John 3:16; Romans 10:13–15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11)

b. Evidences of Salvation:

Internal evidence: The direct witness of the Holy Spirit
External evidence: A life of righteousness and true holiness

(Romans 8:16; Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12)

The Ordinances of the Church

a. Water Baptism

We believe that baptism by immersion is commanded in Scripture and that all believers in Christ should be baptized. In doing so, they declare publicly that they have died with Christ and now walk in newness of life.

(Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47; Romans 6:4)

b. Holy Communion (The Lord’s Supper)

We believe the Lord’s Supper—consisting of bread and the fruit of the vine—is a memorial of His suffering and death, and also a declaration of His second coming.

(1 Corinthians 11:26)

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is for all believers and should be earnestly sought in accordance with the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was a common experience in the early Church.

a. Through this baptism:

We receive power for service
It is separate from and subsequent to the new birth
(Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4–8; Acts 8:12–17; Acts 10:44–46; Acts 15:7–9)

b. It produces:

A fullness of the Spirit
Deep reverence for God
Complete dedication to His work
Passionate love for Christ, His Word, and the lost
(John 7:37–39; Acts 4:8; Acts 2:42–43; Hebrews 12:28; Mark 16:20)

c. The initial evidence of this experience is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit enables.

(Acts 2:4)

d. This is distinct from the gift of tongues used in teaching, having different purposes and usage.

(1 Corinthians 12:4–10, 28)

Holy Living

Holiness means separation from all forms of evil and full dedication to God.
(Romans 12:1–2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12)

The Scriptures call for a holy life, for without it no one will see the Lord.
(Hebrews 12:14)

By the Holy Spirit, we are able to obey the command, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
(1 Peter 1:15–16)

The Church and its Ministries

We believe the Church—composed of all believers—is the Body of Christ.
(Hebrews 12:23; Ephesians 1:22–23; 2:22; Colossians 1:18)

The ministries of the Church have two primary purposes:

To evangelize the world
To build up the Church toward maturity
(Mark 16:15–20; Ephesians 4:11–13)

Divine Healing

We believe that divine healing is an essential part of the Gospel. Freedom and healing from sickness are provided in Christ’s atonement on the cross for all believers.
(Isaiah 53:4–5; Matthew 8:16–17; James 5:14–16)

The Second Coming of Christ

a. We believe in the blessed hope—Christ’s return to take His saints (the Rapture)—followed by His visible return to earth with His saints to reign for 1,000 years.

(Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27–30; Revelation 1:7; 19:11–14; 20:1–6)

b. This reign will result in:

The salvation of Israel
The establishment of universal peace
(Ezekiel 37:21–22; Zephaniah 3:19; Romans 11:26–27; Psalm 72:3–8; Isaiah 11:6–9; Micah 4:3–4)

The Final Judgement

We believe there will be a final judgment where the wicked dead will be judged before the great white throne. Anyone not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire along with the devil and his angels—this is the second death.
(Revelation 19:20; 20:11–15)

The New Heaven and New Earth

We believe that our present world will be consumed by fire, and we look forward to a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells.
(2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21–22)

Tithes and Offerings

We believe that God’s ordained method of supporting and expanding His mission is through tithes and voluntary offerings. It is also His way of blessing our lives with abundance.
(Malachi 3:10; Leviticus 27:30; 2 Corinthians 9:7, 12–13)
